GSP Shops for every kind of Mum

Posted on March 11, 2021

It seems weird to condense everything a Mum does into one day a year in Spring, however if we were to show our appreciation for everything a mother does, we’d just never stop! Instead, why not take this one day a year and go to town? Show them you know them, how much you appreciate all they do, and give them a little something to treat themselves.

We’ve put together our Greenwich Shopping Park Mum Guide, with five different definitions for every kind of mum we see and where you should be shopping for their gift. Let us know whether we’ve described your mum to a T or whether she’s a little bit of everything nice.

‘Catwalk on Aisle 12’ Mum
Shops: Matalan, New Look, Starbucks

This Mum always looks her best, despite claiming “Oh, this old thing? I just threw it on”. Her idea of casual chic is a chunky knit, off-shoulder jumper and skinny jeans, and she always teams every outfit with the perfect dramatic necklace, graphic earrings and shoes that just don’t quit.

You can always turn to this Mum for fashion advice or a chat over a coffee, which is how you know she’s just as beautiful inside as she is out. Still don’t understand how she’s wearing skinny jeans for comfort though…

Always moving Mum
Shops: Card Factory, Decathlon, Lidl

Move it but never lose it: this organised Mum is always on the go. From family days out to extracurricular activities, this mum always wants everyone to have fun and live their best life. Her military timing is impeccable and you swear she’s keeping a mini secretary in her purse as she’s always able to remember those important details – birthdays, parent’s evenings, the fact that you love the pain au chocolate from Lidl’s bakery…

Her determination is a force to be reckoned with, and yet you always leave her company feeling like things are a bit more doable than before.

Boss Mum
Shops: Anytime Fitness, Boots, JD Sports

From the boardroom to the living room, this Mum isn’t going to let anything stop her and proves you can work hard, play hard, and look good doing it. She was no stranger to working from home – if anything, this has just upped her game and seems to have achieved the perfect balance between her professional and personal life.

She can nail her latest project as well as she can nail the latest recipe, but she always takes time to be present with her family and makes you feel just as good. She is an inspiration, an icon and you know if you have her on your side, things will be a piece of cake. Speaking of cake…

Home is where this Mum is
Shops: Hobbycraft, Homesense, Wilko

Nights out, concerts, holidays: all pretty exciting, but nothing compares to being able to return to a warm, clean house with the best food and lovely company. Mum’s house reminds you of the set of an advert for Dr Oetker, but none of it’s for show. It’s simply ‘cause Mum loves to see people happy and full.

As a kid, you never understood her telling you to clean your room for family gatherings that took place in the kitchen, but now as you visit, you love having that freshly set bed, those cuddly toys on the shelf and the amazing memories you made.

BMFFLs – Best Mum Friend For Life
Shops: Frankie & Benny’s, Superdrug, Sports Direct

This mum’s motto is ‘there’s nothing a face mask can’t fix’, and she knows exactly when to share her years of knowledge, experience and advice and when to supply copious amounts of food. She can tell what wrong before you’ve even said anything, but you know that you can tell her what’s on your mind, safe in the knowledge she won’t judge – she’s probably been there herself.

You’ve bonded over food, face masks, gym classes and all sorts and no matter where life takes you, you know she’ll always be there when you need her.
